Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Oct 05, 2009 7:14 am Our Victorian home has 3 bedrooms, all with the original Kauri pine flooring which we are keeping. The rest of the house is being rebuilt. We have to choose a wooden floor for the rest of the house, so when you come in the front door, there is a hallway which will lead into an open plan living area These bedrooms are off this hallway. We don't necessarily need to match up the colour of the Kauri pine (which is a golden colour) and wondering what colour to do the rest of the house Our builder says to either try to match it up OR go totally away from it as a feature I would prefer another colour as I think the Kauri is too golden for the whole house. We can't afford to do the whole house in Kauri and we don't want to rip the original flooring out. I saw nice flooring at a Stonehenge home called Spotted Gum which had a lovely rich look which would go with my furniture. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it 2 6191 Hi there, I'm a conplete newbie to this, but I'm looking to put a floor down in my 6x9m shed.
