Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Sep 19, 2009 9:04 pm Hi, Does anyone know a current (ball park) per meter rate to have solid timber flooring installed on a concrete slab, probably the directly attached method of installation? Thanks, any info is appreciated. Andrew Building at Sierra Estate. Re: Solid Timber flooring on a Slab Pricing? 2Sep 21, 2009 6:27 am As a rough guide - We were told $30 per sqm installation plus $30 per sqm sand & varnish (can't think of the right word?) on top of the cost of the timber per sqm. Some places will do the whole lot for you, so depending on your timber ... works out to be roughly $130 a square metre. (mid range timber). Engineered timber, is a lot cheaper as it is a finished product when laid, but you are limited to the amount of times you can sand it. Re: Solid Timber flooring on a Slab Pricing? 4Sep 22, 2009 6:58 pm G'day, we are having 130sqm of bamboo flooring all installed for $11,500. We found the bamboo floor to be alot harder than standard timber floor. We have pets we have inside the house so the harder floor sohlud be more scratch proof we're hoping anyway! Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15886 If this is a custom build then I would expect the builder to set out the door frame closer to the wall to avoid the gap between architrave and the wall and or specify… 9 8289 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it 2 6174 |
