Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Sep 14, 2009 5:25 pm Hi we are currently cleaning up our teeny tiny house ready to sell and need to re-carpet the bedrooms and hallway. Am looking for a fairly cheap and easy way of doing this that still presents really well... Can you buy off-cuts or discontinued carpet? (very small rooms and short hallway to cover) Do carpet places supply installation? Any recommendations more than welcome, we're in SE suburbs of Melbourne, near Frankston. All carpet places can install, if not you can usually find an installer in your local newspaper. Re: cheap carpet to buy and have installed.... 3Sep 14, 2009 11:17 pm If you are selling, whatever you like the look of that is cheap! Many stores sell remnant stock at about half the normal price, but you must know what size you need. Make a floorplan with all dimensions, and get some stores to calculate what you need, so you know how many linear metres you need. Then look for warehouse sales. Lets say you need 8 linear metres. Look for a roll about that size that suits you and your budget. Often they will have a price to supply and lay remnant stock, so you know the all up cost. Have fun! Ash. Exact address can be googled So much carpet- staff are very helpful. We got three rolls of remenants for our rental, excellent quality for $200. They can organise layers and installers as well. They also do tiles. Timber engineered floors- blew everyone else out of the water. Hope this helps. Building a H3nl3y Charleton- its a home, not a house.
