We're building a new house and we've looked at carpets at a series of outlets, choosing some SDN for our media room (very dark chocolate) and some light coloured wool for bedrooms. All twist pile, $180/linear metre for the wool and 220 for the sdn.
I belatedly caught on to the issue of underlay and have read some useful stuff here on homeone.
Our quote includes an underlay of Dunlop Eureka Gold, which the salesman has described as "one down from Springtred", "11mm foam", "less firm and softer than Springtred". He will supply Springtred for for more money and has implied that Springtred is too firm underfoot and is more suted to a commercial environment.
Of course, my ******* searching has found nothing about Dunlop Eureka Gold and I've taken his comments to maybe mean it is less dense and more air (the foam, not his comments).
Does anyone have any experience with this dunlop product or advice to offer?
