Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jul 18, 2009 4:00 pm Hi everyone I'm hoping there are some people on here who would love to show off their wood laminate flooring I'd love to see some pics if possible. I think this is what I'm going to get instead of tiles, but can't visual putting all the other colours together with a timber look floor. Another question - and probably a REAL stupid one!! Is 'wood laminate' flooring the same as 'wood floating floor'. Got pics? 2Jul 18, 2009 4:23 pm Wood laminate flooring looks like timber flooring (coz it is timber). Wood laminate boards are laminated ie they're like plywood. Look at the edge of a board and you'll see what I mean. You can sand them a few times (?) before the top layer is gone. Then it's time to replace it. Solid boards are not layered. So, they can be sanded more times before it needs replacement. Chris Re: Have you got laminate timber floor? Got pics? 3Jul 18, 2009 8:43 pm Thanks ChrisL. I don't have any to look at but as soon as I get my car back I'll go out window shopping and look for that. Have seen some layed in a house before but I don't know what it was, but it was horrible. The top had bubbled up, I'm hoping I don't get that! Got pics? 4Jul 19, 2009 8:38 am Sounds like cheap laminate (polymer type, not the wooden type). They can be prone to water damage and they are not sand-able. There are some good ones available though. Chris Re: Have you got laminate timber floor?
