Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jun 28, 2009 11:06 am Hi I'm in need of some advice re: 1 strip floating timber (not laminate) floors please. Retailers say that in Brisbane, because of the humidity, they would recommend this over solid timber. Here are the options: 1. Unique timber floor floors -- http://www.utf.com.au 2. Readyflor -- http://www.premiumfloors.com.au 3. Universal -- http://www.universalwoodfloor.com -- this is sold in Brisbane by Carpet Choice 4. Big River Timbers -- http://www.bigrivertimbers.com.au/ We like the Sydney Blue Gum, but I've only seen this with Unique Timber Floors. Questions please: 1. Has anyone out there used product from Unique Timber Floors? 2. Is Brisbane too humid for solid timber? 3. A quote from a Unique Retailer for Sydney Blue Gum is $179/m2 installed. Is this reasonable? 4. A quote from a Readyflor retailer for Readyflor in Jarrah is $200/m2. Is this reasonable? 5. I did a Google search and found a Brisbane based wood floor broker -- http://www.floorbrokersaustralia.com.au/. Anyone used this group? Thanks for the help. But I'm not sure… 3 4588 Thanks, that's the motivation I needed to give it a try sooner rather than one day! 4 2060 Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 11530 |
