Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jun 27, 2009 9:54 pm Today we went to see a few flooring stores and found one with Karndean vinyl planks. They quoted us $107 installed which seems quite expensive. We saw Polyflor vinyl planks at another store which look like Karndean planks and the price was $40 + labour (I guess $25-$30?). Are they really that expensive? Can anyone give a feedback on Polyflor vinyl planks (Camaro or Expona range)? Are they good? Re: Karndean quote - $107 per sq m. Is that reasonable? Polyflor 2Jul 17, 2009 10:49 pm Hey Yev, I know this isn't specifically answering your question, but just have to mention....... I thought I was getting an awesome deal on Karndean for $79 p sq/m plus labour, but turned out they wanted $57 p sq/m for labour!!!!! So, I called EVERYWHERE until I found a) a supplier that had the range in stock, reducing the price to $59p sq/m for materials in the oak royale range (which is the most expensive one) then labour for $25p sq/m. could be a little more if the slab needs prep, but at worst that will be $12p sq/m IF I need it. So, some places charge really high amounts for labour and charge more so they can order the stock in, so if you do like the Karndean plank call EVERY carpet place in your area, even if the website doesn't list Kandean, as they all have it, it can save a fortune, then get labour quotes. Best of luck in choosing your flooring!!!! We are getting 81 sq m, so that may factor into the price. Judie Re: Karndean quote - $107 per sq m. Is that reasonable? Polyflor 4Jul 20, 2009 8:02 am Hi We got a few quotes for the DaVinci series (approx 80Sqm) and so far the cheapoest we have is 80$persqm including laying costs. We are still shopping before we decide. Re: Karndean quote - $107 per sq m. Is that reasonable? Polyflor 5Jul 20, 2009 10:57 am I'm a bit out of touch with vinyl pricing. Have to say I was a bit to see prices anywhere near $100 per sq/m. Was just talking carpet prices on another thread, and fine quality, top shelf carpet (with underlay and laying) was less than the reported price for Karndean vinyl planks. Makes carpets look incredibly cheap by comparison! I think Karndean prices are a bit over the top for what they are. The thing that makes it a little more economical is that (being planks) there is virtually no wastage. So pretty much every plank you buy is used. And yes, with good maintenance, they will last a good while. Ash. Seems good to me. I've been told $4-5k/sqm is reasonable in Perth. 2 11173 1) I had requested R6 ceiling insualtion batts, however I noticed that on some areas there are huge gaps which will allow hot air to sweep in, and also noticed black/grey… 0 3597 hey there! π so, itβs kinda common for standard drawer depths to be around 500mm since most cabinets use this size to fit the usual runners… 3 20911 |
