Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jun 24, 2009 10:15 am Hello, I am building my first house and to start off with I have decided to have wood look vinyl flooring throughout the living area, to save on costs (as it is easily upgradable later). Does anyone have a photo they can show me of the same sort of thing? I would love to see how it looks. Feels grainy to touch. Nice colours. Goes down super fast. I can post pics if this is what you are after. Yes, the cheapo stuff! The other is a bog standard wood plank look vinyl, i fit these to your standard new homes. Hope its what your after. I have just put a contract on a house ( still waiting on finance so fingers crossed) and i am also looking at doing wood look vinyl. We are on a really tight budget and as you say, it can easily be replaced later on down the track. The pictures that Neorayez posted are exactly what i have been looking for too, thanks Neorayez. It is quite hard to find a picture of wood look vinyl ( not the wood look vinyl planks as i do not want them either). I have a Bright Red Leather Lounge, Chocolate Furniture, a beautiful Antique look Gold Mirror of about 70cm x 90cm, 2 x Lime Green Cane/Chocolate tall cabinets and a big Bright Red/Cream Rug. So what colour flooring do i go for??? This is a question for Michelle also. I was thinking a medium colour, not light and not dark. It is only a small house and we will be repainting the inside a nice white or off white ( not sure yet but will ask Michelle help for this also) So what colour vinyl have you managed to find and how much is it fully laid per metre?? I would love to know what your colours are and what you are thinking of doing?? Thanks from Kim Re: Can anyone show me a pic of their vinyl floor (not planking) 6Jul 28, 2009 2:20 pm Hi, we had vinyl flooring - and it has been ok. We went lower range, and kinda wish we had paid a bit more for it. In saying that though, the vinyl has done well over the years. We have had it 5 years now and are looking to replace as the vinyl is looking a bit worse for wear - there is a whitish film over it making it look dirty - I think it is just that it is worn away the shine of it..... I run a family day care, so it has taken a good beating - 4 kids under 4 a day over the past 3 years!!! It is easy to clean!!! Please be really wary of when they lay it... the people who layed ours didn't even sweep the floor before they layed it down, so after a few weeks of walking on it, bumps appeared. The builder told us it was the layers fault and they came and inspected it and told us it was our fault for not ensuring the floor was swept before it was laid!!! Not sure exactly how we were meant to be able to do that when house was locked up and builders had the key!!! Sorry! I'm new to this forum and have made a mistake in my posting! I'm looking for a structural solution to a stand alone wooden pickets fence with no structural rail… 1 3298 I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15284 Thanks. I called VBA today and they said it was a Consumer Affairs issue, the old handball. Seems like the government organisations don't want to do their job at the moment. 2 7561 |
