Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jun 22, 2009 1:07 am Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone has pictures of their tassie oak flooring, or any other light timber flooring they would be willing to share. My partner and I are in the process of changing builders and house plans - with the old house we were going to go with porcelain tiles, but we have decided to go with light timber floors for our new house design. Would love to see how it looks if you have it in your home. I want to get a good idea of the colour/shades of whichever floor we choose before I try and pick our kitchen colours! thanks Kara Building with Ventura homes (WA) Building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20516 Slab: 17/04/10, Bricking started: 12/05/10, Bricking finished: 2/06/10, Roof frame done: 11/06/10, Colorbond on: 14/07/10, Lock Up: 19/08/10, Cabinets: 25/08/10, Tiling done: 28/09/10, Electrical: 2/10/10, PCI: 29/10/10, Keys: 4/11/10 Re: light/pale timber flooring - tassie oak? 2Jun 22, 2009 10:25 am Google Image should bring up plenty of picks. Also have a look at Stringybark or some of the other blonde eucalypts. They are a little darker than the Ash species in Tassie Oak but are much harder. Tassie Oak is fairly soft and is more common in furniture and joinery than flooring Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15907 Hi - thanks for your reply.
