Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jun 10, 2009 12:10 am Hi to all .... I would dearly love any thoughts you may have on what floor covering & colour you have seen, like or have chosen that would suit a crisp white & chrome kitchen. My bathrooms are also white, chrome with very basic feature tiles. To give some info - I live on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. I have always had an earthy, neutral warm theme in my houses and now would like to go with a more coastal theme - with a fresh, cool, relaxed and clean feel. I would really like to choice a light coloured bamboo covering - however after reading all the posts I may need to choose tiles. If I have to go with tiles any ideas on what colour & size??? I am not a fan of black or dark choc brown for my flooring. Also does anyone know if there is a big price difference between bamboo flooring (not floating)/ tiles to buy and have professionally installed. If you have a lighter coloured bamboo floor - Do you like it ? Is it easy to live with? have you had any problems? Please feel free to give your opinion Cheers! KJ Re: Crisp white kitchen - need to choice floor colour 2Jun 12, 2009 11:22 am I have no idea what sort of prices you'd be looking at but I think your choice for light bamboo would look beautiful. If you were going for tiles I'd be looking for a large rectangular sandstone tile, something earthy. Good luck, I bet it will end up looking great! If you have gone earthy before, you need a change I think a nice light grey tile in a 600x300 or 600x600 for the kitchen and go a darker charcoal in the bathrooms they would definitely have a cool feel about them. Looking for advice on whether this variation in tile colour is acceptable. The large tile on the left was used in my main bathroom renovation 1 year ago.
