I like the look of floating floor but worry about scratching,water etc.The vinyl i hear is better wearing but im worried it will look cheap and nasty. I'll give you my fors and against when I had to decide myself. I hate the noise of floating floors, I have seen houses with gaps where it's shifted and you can't fix it without pulling up the whole lot, same if it gets damaged. Vinyl planking is quiet, easy to repair- just heat gun the damaged strip, lift and glue down another. It looks extremely smart, is easy to clean and totally waterproof and I think more kid proof than the floating floor. I worried bout it being colder than a floating floor but it's not as cold as say, tiles. So I love my vinyl!
