Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering Re: timber flooring on masterchef ?? 21Jun 14, 2009 1:42 pm The building seems to be a warehouse converted into office space, the floor may have already been there when they leased it. http://www.realcommercial.com.au/commer ... te/5523186 Re: timber flooring on masterchef ?? 22Jul 21, 2009 4:54 pm Has anyone here laid Engineered Spotted Gum? I'm concerned that the showroom samples I've seen don't appear to have the same variation and character as the solid, yet the sales staff are confident that it's the same when laid. I've sold my wife on spotted gum on the strength of the Masterchef floor. If it doesn't look as good then I'm a dead man! Any opinions would be appreciated. Re: timber flooring on masterchef ?? 23Jul 22, 2009 2:19 am I just wish someone on the production team got that bloody hedge clipped correctly as they pan into the shot of the spotted gum floors in the master chef premises. I nearly got on a planeand went and clipped it for them! Just hope the floors are done right Re: timber flooring on masterchef ?? 24Jul 22, 2009 7:52 pm I didn't watch the show so I can't comment. The floor in that pic in an early post doesn't look like spotted gum to me. Its hard to tell in a pic like that but I would lean toward grey ironbark. Re: timber flooring on masterchef ?? 25Jul 22, 2009 7:58 pm mmmmm may be its just that pic, the floor looks a little too reddish. Qld spotted gum does contain red boards as well as dark brown, mid and light brown whilst NSW spotted gum is mid to light brown boards only ( sometimes some a bit pinkish) Channel Ten may not have any idea, you may have to find out who owns/ renovated the building and even find oout the contractors/suppliers names etc. I think it might be in the too hard basket Re: timber flooring on masterchef ?? 26Jul 08, 2011 2:12 pm Hi all I can confirm 100% the MasterChef flooring is definately Spotted Gum. Sydney Flooring in Chipping Norton confirmed they layed the floor and it is Spotted Gum. We currently have Spotted Gum flooring on display amongst a number of other beautiful Australian native hardwoods, including a range of recycled products as well. We are situated just off the West Gate Bridge, 190a Hall St, Spotwood.
