Hi
Today we selected our carpet for the house we're building...
And wondering whether we made the right choice after reading comments on this forum!
We've chosen Hycraft Vercelli in Macadamia (although I think the colour is more like Cream on my monitor).

We love the natural look and warmth of the wool carpets especially as we're building in the chilly Adelaide Hills. But have found negative comments about "sisal style" carpet on this forum. Is hi lo loop the same as sisal style? If so are we going to run into all kinds of trouble with staining, pulled loops, etc further down the track? We will have two small children in the new house and want something that will last 10+ years.
Should we select a slightly darker colour such as Hemp? It doesn't fit with the "classic country style" that we're trying to achieve in our house. Which will kind of be a compromise... But long term we may have regrets? Should we just go with the carpet we love and wear the consequences of being vigilant with cleaning and getting them regularly cleaned by a professional? The carpet will be for the formal lounge, bedrooms and a study. The rest of the house will be Readyflor Spotted Gum and tiling in bathroom is a natural brown stone/marble effect (very subtle).
We looked at nylon loop carpets today but they didn't seem to have a natural feel or colour. Can appreciate the 15+ years wear and tear though but not are nice feel as the wool.
What do you think? Could you please help us feel more confident in our choice? Or steer us in the right direction?
Thanks in advance
