After being at the home today, I think I'm going to go for a shade more like the darker one because I think the house needs that bit of depth to it My karma ran over your dogma Re: The search for Carpet 22Apr 22, 2009 8:46 pm Just saw your carpet choices. They both look really nice, I really like those colours. I know the consensus tends to be if you have children darker will be better to hide the stains, but I prefer lighter colours because (for me personally) I think they allow you more option when decorating a bedroom. Not such a big deal in a loungeroom, but as bedrooms tend to be different colours depending on who is occupying the room, I like them to be on the lighter side and as neutral as possible. I just think it gives you more options for room furnishings and paint colours. DH and I don't agree on this either, he would go the darker. Lighter carpets do show the marks more, but this is actually a good thing because you will tend to deal with them sooner giving you a greater chance of removing them before they set or cause chemical damage to the fibres. two rules of thumb for dealing with spills. Blot dilute blot. Dilute like with like. (If is a water based spill clean it with water) cheers Col Nation For information on caring for wool and other carpet and upholstery go to www.woolsafe.com.au Re: The search for Carpet 24May 23, 2009 10:46 am Both are reallly nice and at a very good price for the quality. I would choose darker as I have 3 young kids and all our rentals have had lighter coloured carpets which show every single bit of stain etc...and as the years go by...when you blot and clean...you actually see the bit you have cleanned. Perhaps cause we have been in older rentals wth even older carpets But i really like the look and feel of the darker one cause it looks warmer and just that much more forgiving 1 11004 1 15753 they can, it's a fairly standard solution when the slab isn't recessed. the falls need to be in the main floor, if it hasn't been done then you need to ask them to redo… 4 6584 |
