Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Apr 09, 2009 1:40 pm After our problem with the grouting in the bathroom a friend (who is a tiler) suggested that we don't actually use coloured grout and to stick to the light grey. His reasons were that the light grey is really easy to clean, and you don't get the colour variation you do with the coloured stuff. He said the coloured stuff will still get dirty and you can't use bleach to clean it like you can with the light grey. We really wanted to have a grout match as closely to the tile as possible so it looked like a continuous floor, not broken up with the lighter lines. Does anyone have any ideas or experiences with the coloured v light grey grout? I would love to know. Thanks Andrea Re: Problems with coloured grout? 2Apr 11, 2009 10:26 am Hi Andrea You can have your grout colour sealed that way you can have the colour you want we carry 14 colours for you to choose from. The best thing about this is it will be easier to maintain and stains wipe straight out we also give a 15 year warranty have a look at my website for more info. http://www.safeclean.com.au/easyweb3/ID ... ur_sealing If he has not grouted the floor yet than ask him to use a biege colour sanded grout than we can colour seal it for you or if he uses grey grout thats fine it just means we have to do more coats. He is right about easier to maintain using grey grout that is for sure mainly due to the colour as darker grouts do not show as much soil build up as white grout but with colour sealing it does not matter what colour you choose. Craig Re: Problems with coloured grout? 4Apr 14, 2009 6:58 am Yes you can it all depends on how much of an area you would like done, if it is just a shower wall and floor no problems you just need the tiles and grout fully cleaned and dried before applying grout perfect colour seal we sell kits which includes colour seal (1 pint), cleaner, training dvd and a chammie to wipe with the cost is $195.00 + postage. Craig Re: Problems with coloured grout? 6Apr 14, 2009 7:50 am Yes Andrea if it is a biege colour tile that you have than try and use a biege colour grout and than we come in and colour seal over that which seals the grout making it water proof and stain resistant. We carry 13 colours with us so hopefully we can get as close as possible to your tile colour. Craig Thanks splashers, that makes sense. The waterproofing guy used this Davco product, I will raise the issue with builder and hopefully get resolved with him - if not… 2 12890 Hi everyone, Have just put a shower in the laundry and after only using it 2-3 times have noticed staining on the grout. The tiles were glued onto a concrete wall after… 0 5449 I am not a brick expert, but rendering would be 1 option, it would be costly to do the entire house though.... 2 6677 |
