Selleys make a liquid nails direct stick that is designed for the purpose stated. It is a very different product to regular liquid nails. They have 2 versions, one that foams up to help fill irregularities in the slab and a regular version that relies on the notches in your trowel to allow for floor variation. I haven't used it because I like Sika.
