Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Mar 26, 2009 3:15 pm Hi I have karndean vinyl planks throughout my house and I love them but a few of the planks in my main living areas have some surface scratching or scuffs, not obvious to everyone but I know they are there. Someone dragged a mattress across it and it had some hard plastic nobs on the handles and thats what scratched it. Anyway I was wondering if anyone knows how I would go about getting these scratches out. They are not deep scratches just surface ones almost just scuff marks. Re: Karndean Vinyl Planks - Scratch/Scuff removal 2Mar 26, 2009 5:49 pm Have you tried ringing a Karndean stockist and getting their advice? My sister used to have Karndean, I asked her but she said she never had any scratches/scuffs. Sorry. Happy at Home Re: Karndean Vinyl Planks - Scratch/Scuff removal 3Mar 28, 2009 8:11 pm We're having kardean vinyl planks the salesman said to get rid of any scuffs, marks etc that you can get a sealant removant which you mop on & the reseal with a mop on sealant. Re: Karndean Vinyl Planks - Scratch/Scuff removal 4Apr 27, 2009 10:24 am The best way to remove light scratches from your Karndean floor is a 2 step process. First you need to purchase some Karndean Basic Stripper & Karndean Dim Glow Floor Protector from your local Karndean Flooring Specialists. They come in a 2lt container. Your basic stripper will cover about 100mt2 diluted and the Dim Glow around 40mt2 - based on 2 coat application. Once you have these you follow the directions - this basically involves a 3 mopping procedure. By applying the Dim Glow protector you are effectively applying a protective layer to your floor. This process should be reapplied every 6 months depending on foot traffic. When finished your floor will look as good as new! To help keep your floor looking good in between stripping & sealing it is also recommended to use the Karndean Routine cleaner. Never use any bleach products on your Karndean floor OR Rubber backed mats. Hope this helps and gets your floor looking good as new!
