Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Mar 25, 2009 10:05 pm I am so confused... I take over my house in 5 weeks. It has been built with a yellow-tongue floor base. A couple of floor covering stores have told me that i am able to lay the fuzzy backed vinyl (12-16mm thick) straight onto the yellow-tongue.... then just to confuse things another store told me i have to put some sheeting stuff down first... does anyone have this flooring??? how was it laid??? thanks in advance Re: vinal help... tha 2Mar 31, 2009 5:00 pm The fuzzy backed vinyl is just a backed vinyl, it's good, its softer under foot. The sheeting stuff is ply board that gets laid to help the surface level out. Either way is fine, don’t stress, get them out to quote you on both. The ply board will be dearer of course, but it depends how rough and uneven the floor is as to wether you need it not. Hi there, long-time lurker but first time posting. I've bought a house 2 and a bit years ago and last year we had some major water damage on a converted pergola area… 0 7936 Yes, unless you are in a low intensity rainfall area or the area is protected from rain. Do you have access to NCC Part 2 or can you download it? I can email you a copy… 10 12524 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7170 |
