Question 1- any strong opinions on plank on ply vs direct stick? Question 2- if you go direct stick, is there nails involved, or just glue? We are not keen on the nailed look... There is a 15mm overlay wide board that can be secret nailed
The jury is still out in the industry on the direct stick method as a whole as there is no way to mechanically fix the boards as there is with ply/battens etc. For every install with no problems there seem to be one with problems. having built in different rural locations may i suggest that the house should suit the location and needs to be different from homes in town..eg if you will be working… 9 5001 Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15923 The most likely cause of your timber swelling (parquetry?) is either a plumbing leak or carelessly leaving water on floors after use or both.
