Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Mar 13, 2009 10:00 am Hello to all experts,
I was a very late strater to this forum and regret that now. There is a wealth of information here to help design a home. I am looking for some advice from all of you. I am building with Wincrest (hopefully they will not go bust before they complete my place!!). We are looking for having Timber flooring on the ground floor, Timber stairs, carpet (100% NZ wool) and porcelian tiles for our kitchen. Advice is needed regarding the best available options for Timber and carpet in terms of quality and budget. Our Timber area will be almost about 9 sq mt + 16 stairs and carpet area will be similar on first floor. We are looking for Timber to be in the range of $90-100 laid and carpet between $40-45 laid. Any suggestions/comments on budgets and options welcome. Thanks heaps Moved in December 2015 Still scratching my head as to why is old a new house and bought a 30 year old one!! Re: Timber and Carpet Sydney 2Mar 13, 2009 10:07 am From recent research on timber flooring I would say you are looking more around the $150sqm installed price range. I know you can get nylon carpet at around $50sqm laid but not sure about wool (I don't look at wool as my skin is not a fan!)
Have you thought about laminate or vinyl flooring instead? Re: Timber and Carpet Sydney 3Mar 13, 2009 12:25 pm Saw some discountinued lines in a franchised store for carpet 100% wool, and they were within the range...as for laminate, I guess will explore all options of Timber first before evaluating option of Laminate or Vinyl..
I am at bricking stage so time is of the essence for me, so I will be hurrying up to all showrooms in the next couple of weeks. Or is both the same? 6 7272 Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15907 Looking to tile the facade pillars rather than rendering. Builder is quoting 2500$ laying cost for upto 10msq. The 2 pillars come to be 16msq. So laying costs are 5000$… 0 7546 |
