Hello Everyone
We recently installed the floor shown on the attached picture in our lounge room. It is a floating floor produced by Premium Floors and sold under the name of Readyflor, it consists of pre-finished boards, that interlock with each other, normally without the use of glue. As we live in Brisbane we were advised that the boards had to be glued together because the floor could be noisy otherwise.
When we had completed the installation we noticed that some boards had distinctive machining marks, and that the end joints weren't flat. Both these faults could be clearly seen in the reflected light coming through our veranda door. I hope the picture shows that clearly enough.
We arranged for representatives of Premium Floors to inspect the floor, as we were less than happy with the finished product. Their advice in a nut shell was that there was nothing wrong with the supplied product, and if the marks annoyed us we should cover them with a rug.
Unfortunately, seeing the boards are glued together it is not possible to change them, and we don't really want to sand a brand new floor and lose some of its life expectancy.
Has anyone else had any similar experience with floating floors?
Would you agree with the assessment of Premium Floor's representatives?
