Re: Which direction for timber look flooring? 2Mar 10, 2009 12:46 pm We installed our floor boards in our current home so that they ran parrallel with the length of the room.
I'm not sure what extends beyond the kitchen area in that photo, but it might look good to run your boards parallel to the hallway walls to add length and make it flow nicer than if the boards ran "short" across the hallway?! Re: Which direction for timber look flooring? 3Mar 10, 2009 1:00 pm Maybe I'm a bit of a tool - but I'd just run them as if they were built into the house..........i.e, if you had floor joists & floor boards. The joists would run the shortest span & the floor boards would be perpendicular to that.
So, if memory serves (which it generally doesn't) as the coral daydream is a deeper house than it is wide, I'd run them from the front to the back (the joists would run left to right). .........yep, definately a tool! Re: Which direction for timber look flooring? 4Mar 10, 2009 1:11 pm Hey seakyl, i'd recommend running them from the front door down the hallway to the back of the house. This is how ours are and it looks better than running them sideways across the house!

I wouldn't run them any other way, I think it would look terrible, JMHO! We will be running them the same as Phoenix has. Can't wait!
