Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Black, white, or beige floor tiles ? 25Feb 18, 2009 12:16 pm iTalk we are having a black leather lounge with white dining table and chairs and whitish walls and our tiles are a taupe/grey with a veeeery fine whitish marbling affect. Black tiles would look amazing, but will show up every bit of dust....like my brown tiles will probably and think of how black furniture shows the dust specially when the sun is shining through. Oh, and don't worry, I haven't cleaned a lounge in 30 years shame Re: Black, white, or beige floor tiles ? 26Feb 18, 2009 5:42 pm iTalk Oh I'm sorry. You don't have to reply if you're busy. Our Colour appointment is way far from now. But anyway, I asked a question just earlier, Quote: Hi Michelle, Call me old style, but I think that the entire house should have the same colurs. I have in mind black floor tiles with white wall all over the house, well except bedroom where they should have greyish colour carpet. As for the kitchen, I prefer having black bench top and white cupboards. Same black tiles go for bathrooms and toilets. Using your expertise in this field, what do you think of this setup ? Thank you Thanks iTalk……black is a stunning colour, but as mentioned it will show lots of things on the floor. If you are putting a black lounge on a black floor, you will need a really smik rug to break all the black up, now that’s going to be tricky alone, and I would leave the rug till the very last until the lounge room is fully decorated so you can step back and decide which colour to go with after looking at all your furnishings. Black will look good, but it will take clever planning to get the overall look right. Sorry, not too much help to you and I have probably confused you more. If you go with the black, when you move in, take some photos and I’ll have a look for you and give you some advice on how to soften the look. By the way iTalk….is that Epping NSW that you live at? Hey, I'm just trying to help out here. I saw someone having difficulty with a problem choosing colours because of a soiling problem, and am offering some free advice that can keep things looking good and save some money along the way. Yes it's a bit off the original topic but thought the information woud be generally helpful so that iTalk can have wider options for choice of colour rather than being restricted to dark colours to hide soil. cheers Col Nation For information on caring for wool and other carpet and upholstery go to www.woolsafe.com.au Re: Black, white, or beige floor tiles ? 30Feb 19, 2009 5:34 pm Your professional advice is very welcome Col. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Black, white, or beige floor tiles ? 31Feb 23, 2009 7:28 am I just came across this setup. It has white floor tiles and white walls with black kitchen setup and white benctops. "I like "
It looks nice and neat, but I'm concerned about the white that can be used for floor tiles. Should I used a cool or warm white ? How about lightings ? Which downlights should I use ? warm or cool ? Halogen or LED ? 240v or 12v with transformers ? My head is about to explode Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Black, white, or beige floor tiles ? 33Feb 23, 2009 9:29 am I'd like coffee colour for floor tiles, really big tiles with a brown grout, i think black will show up a lot of surface dust unless u are cleaning all the time, brown looks great with black furniture. I have some black furniture and is needs dusting so regularly, whereas our light colour beech furniture u can't notice it Re: Black, white, or beige floor tiles ? 34Feb 24, 2009 12:28 pm We are having a similar problem. Black tiles throughout ground floor (including bathrooms + laundry for consistency), light walls...and then the problem - the kitchen. Thinking black (jet black) stone benchtop with light/whitish cupboards and a white glass splashback or... a very light gray (haze i think) benchtop and black glass splashback with light, whitish cupboards. Also something we have been thinking about is the grout for the tiles. I like the lighter grout so to emphasis the tiles (600x600), but the dirt will be more noticeable, darker grout might wash out the effect of the large dark tiles we are after. We also have this great colourful (very vivid) painting that we want to use to give us options with the decorating downstairs - probably have a feature wall to set it apart. All these colour options are doing my head in - the stone benchtop(s) are going to be a centre piece of sorts (island bench, kitchen wall bench and indoor/outdoor servery style bench) as the ground floor is all open plan so we need to get this right.
Hope i havent hijacked your thread, but i am very interested to read people's comments. Re: Black, white, or beige floor tiles ? 35Feb 24, 2009 3:37 pm sg,
Feel free to ask questions. The more the replies, the easier your decision our be. I'm more biased now towards the white floor tiles, white walls, black overheard and island cupboards, white stone benchtops, dark grey carpet, and red splashback. Something similar to the first photo on this page. I'm concerned though about the white colour of the floor tiles. Should I go warm white (yellowish), cool white (blueish), or grey-white ? Re: Black, white, or beige floor tiles ? 36Feb 26, 2009 5:09 pm We might end up with white floor tiles ..
Michelle, What do you think of: Floortiles: Cool White (600x600) Walls: Cool White Kitchen Cupboards and overheard cupboards: Black Stone benctop: Black Splashback: Red Carpet: Black/Dark Grey I see that white can go with black, white, or any colour furniture .. What do you think ? Thankyou for your advice. We do have Caesar coming out and hopefully resolve the issue for us. 4 18756 thanks. the above one is white Mat tiles and have gripness so going for this Mat tiles for both indoor and outdoor.
