"Evaporative cooling systems should not be used where wooden flooring is installed. Such cooling systems, through intermittent use will result in large fluctuation in humidity. This may result in deterioration of the wooden floor through exposed to repeated wet/dry cycle, and an increased potential for splintering." Does this mean that timber floor should not be installed in a house with evap cooling? timber 2Feb 07, 2009 6:04 pm I think this is really more relevant for a venue where the air con is on all day every day - maybe a commercial place. But I dare say that it's a problem for any cooling, and no one will live without cooling!
