As a temporary measure I want to make the particle board floor in a spare bedroom (upstairs) more attractive. What bases are suitable for particle board (oil based or water based)? What brands do you recommend for paint or stain or polish for particle board floor? Can you use the natural oil finishes (organoil) on particle board?
I will have a beautiful mat on the floor. Outside the room are polished boards, a similar pale colour to the particle board. Thanks!

HEY THERE A MANY WAYS YOU CAN GO AND HERE THEY ARE
1. A SOLID COLOUR TO MATCH YOUR FLOOR BOARDS IS THE FIRST OPTIONS WITH THOUSANDS OF COLOURS TO CHOOSE FROM YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS AND THE PAINT TO USE IS ANY SELF PRIMING EXTERIOR PAINT (GLOSS) LIKE DULUX X10 OR WATTYL SOLAGARD ETC.... THESE ARE NOT FLOOR GRADE PRODUCTS BUT CAN LAST QUITE A WHILE.
2. ANOTHER NICE FINISH I HAVE SEEN IS WATTYL EXTERIOR STAIN ITS A SEMI TRANSPERENT STAIN THAT LOOKS GOOD AND CAN BE COATED WITH A CLEAR AFTERWARDS
3. IF AN OIL FINISH IS WHAT YOU WANT FEAST WATSON HAS A PRODUCT CALLED CHINA WOOD OIL A NICE PRODUCT THAT CAN BE TINTED WITH OTHER PRODUCT PROOFTINT FOR A TOUCH OF COLOUR
THERE ARE MANY FINISHES YOU CAN DOO ON FLOORS JUST ASK YOUR LOCAL
PAINT SHOP AND THEY SHOULD GIVE YOU A FEW IDEAS
