But, I can recommend the ENJO mop... yes it is expensive for just a mop, but it it light, and easy to use. I actually just carry around a spray bottle or a squeeze sports bottle and add water to the floor as needed (which means I don't have too much water on the mop) . Any hard to remove marks just get a little extra water and wipes off easily. Works excellent on both tiles and timber floors. (and NO I'm not a enjo seller ) Re: Steam Mops 24Dec 07, 2008 1:49 pm I had a Kenwwood steam mop 2000 it was ok except if you had a lot of tiles I would fill it 2 or 3 times and it is slow.
The best use was to remove the stains from carpet, steam it for a few seconds then scrub like mad do that a couple times and any mark was gone amazing. steaming 25Dec 08, 2008 11:14 am I had a Kenwood steam mop. It was great at first, but yes it will leave a white shadow on SOME wooden floors due to the heat on the varnish. I don't have it anymore and have gone back to the Vileda mop. It swishes around everything (it's the one that has the mophead cut into strips), it's great around table legs etc. Needless to say I no longer have a steam mop and would not consider getting another one. Which leads me to the next question which is, how on earth I am going to clean that big house ?(that we are planning on building).
themax planning on a Cl. Balmain Soil survey done Surveyors today Tender next week. Re: 26May 22, 2009 7:36 pm Clarity Can't help with steam mops, all seems to hard ... (and NO I'm not a enjo seller ) I haven't brought one myself, but I clean a couple of other houses who use ENJO products. The mop is great, makes the job easy that's for sure. The price is pretty high like you say (lol my husband though $9 / teatowel was bad!), but considering how long it lasts (5yrs or so) and the fact that you're not buying floor cleaner chemicals. I will be buying one for myself as soon as we move into the house and as soon as I can afford to. Other than that I've got to have one of those miracle cloths! I had a steam cleaner - one of those that's supposed to do grout etc and from that I pretty much gathered that cleaning tiles with a steam mop would be slow and probably not much better than using a plain mop and water. If you're not sure on paying so much for Enjo then try one of the Sabco mops instead, same sort of thing just smaller mop heads and not as easy to use, plus the velcro wears out. For quick drying floors maybe try using a couple of cap fulls of methylated spirits in your bucket of water? Re: Steam Mops 27May 24, 2009 3:53 pm Have used both Enjo and Kenwood 2000 steam mop. Enjo just doesn't cut it for me - cold water alone doesn't clean a floor hygiencially enough for me. The steam mop is good - although having to use electricity is a pain - cords etc. I now use a good old fashioned mop and bucket - have one for wooden floors and one for tiles. Both work a treat! Would love to hear more about the robot one though if anyone has experience......seems like a fabulous contraption...... JL I have the kenwood steam mop too....It's ok in that l find it cleans pretty good....though the cord ain't long enough, the water tank is small so lots of refilling and the time it takes to heat up evrytime you do is annoying. As a result I use it rarely. I like the look of the robot one too! |
