Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jan 24, 2022 7:41 pm Hi all, We are repainting our house, doing a Laundry reno and soon redoing our bathroom and also a kitchen hopefully some time soon or next year. Right now we are going to start with the bedrooms, starting with the kids rooms. About 6 years ago we bought new carpet and I would say no more than 2 years later it was worn in the high traffic areas of it, on the way to the bed and wardrobe etc, fast forward another 4 years and it looks really tired and outdated which is really upsetting as it really isn't that old, it wasn't the top of the tree carpet but wasn't the real cheap and nasty either. Anyhow I am thinking it either needs new carpet or I am exploring other options so I don't need to replace new carpet again in 6 years time, so after some ideas or thoughts on using a nice durable laminate wood looking type flooring. Not sure if it's something that will look nice for a short while and last but will be a regret down the track. If anyone has any advice or experience with having it down be really glad to hear what your thoughts are on the laminate, or if maybe I just didn't buy the right carpet in the first place and you can recommend something that will not flatten down and look light crap 2 years after being laid. Thanks in advance. got it. thanks.
