We have just moved into our new house and we have white tiles and white grout. We have been using a steam mop to clean the tiles which is working perfectly however, it isnt getting into the grout lines and due to us being in a new estate we are copping heaps of dust which is sitting in the grout. just wondering if you can buy attachments etc for steam mops that get down into the grout?? Thanks Re: maintaining 'new' grout 2Oct 16, 2008 4:23 pm Hi
No steam mop will clean grout you need a grout brush to scrub and clean than dry with a towel grout lines only. White sanded grout unsealed is a major problem you have to use a neutral cleaner PH 7 this will help. What I would suggest is either clear sealing the grout or the best option is to colour seal it see my website link below get rid of dirty grout forever. There are applicators in your city that can help email me if you would like there contact info. Craig Re: maintaining 'new' grout 3Oct 16, 2008 5:18 pm Hi Craig,
We have moved into our new home 2 months ago. Our grout hasn't been sealed in our bathrooms. As they are still clean, we would only need to do the sealing, is it a DIY job & something you would recommend? I can't imagine there would be a technician close to us. Sorry to hijack bobcat! You can do it yourself but a professional would be best as I have seen many DYI get into trouble due to leaving sealer residue on tiles that needs to be buffed off before it dries. Here are some great applicators in your area hope they are not to far from you.
