This may have been posted many times, I read some posts but still couldn't get a straightforward answer.
We are toggling between carpet and laminate flooring for upstairs bedrooms (rumpus and hallway would be laminate).
Our main concern is noise which would be produced from laminate flooring. I got a suggestion to go with Regupol 5512 5mm rubber underlay with laminate flooring (8mm planks), which would reduce the noise considerably according to a shop's sales guy.
Has anyone used this underlay before? Could you please share your experience with the noise levels using this underlay or any other suggestions for laminates.
Can this laminate and underlay combo noise levels be comparable with carpets, which would be our last option to go with, where the noise DB levels would be less, I believe.
