Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jun 01, 2010 5:53 pm Hi Everyone, I live in an apartment and my cat is primarily an indoor cat who sleeps inside at night. My main issue is when his cats claw gets stuck in the "loop" of the carpet, sometimes he leaves small marks - not an issue on the old carpet, but I would like to make the correct choice on new carpet. I also want to bear in mind that when I buy a house in a few years I will be renting this one out - so it needs to be durable too. Any advise? Re: Indoor Cat and Carpet Choices - Advise needed 2Jun 01, 2010 6:08 pm We're in a similar situation, two indoor cats, and two indoor dogs. We're looking at a twist pile... had to rule out loop straight away. We have a couple of scratching posts, so will make sure the cats attack these and not the carpet. Most of our house is tiled due to the pets. Only the bedrooms and one living area is to be carpeted. We've made sure we put in a door that separates access to the minor bedrooms so the cats cant get in there. Just have to keep an eye on them, and lock them in the laundry at night.
