If anyone can recommend a timber wholesaler who can supply this stuff let me know. (Melb) The builders are glueing it on directly to the slab. Is that the right thing to do or is it just a short cut? Won't the moisture, even with a sealer on top wreck the timber or will it be fine. I am going for a wide herringbone or chevron pattern. The builder is a carpenter himself and I am not sure who is going to lay the floor. Most of the new houses in Balwyn and Brighton Vic. have parquetry on the ground floors, so look around thoses areas for timber floor laying.
