Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Dec 31, 2013 2:29 pm Hi, As per a previous topic of mine, we are required to get floor coverings fitted before our lender will release the final progress payment to our builder. We are thinking of going for carpet in the 3 bedrooms, and laminate everywhere else with the exception of the wet areas, which are being tiled by the builder. I think the brand of laminate that we have been looking at is European Collection, and the carpet is some kind of mid-range dyed synthetic (?), with a life span of <15 years. We have already obtained a quote from WA Carpet Supermarket, and we are waiting for the quote from Trevors Carpets - both in Osborne Park, but we wanted to know if there are any other companies that we should speak to - i.e. anyone that is particularly reputable or competitively priced. We also spoke to Carpet Call in Osborne Park, but the sales assistant there wasted an hour of his and our time by pricing up a high-end carpet, when we said we wanted something low-mid. He looked heartbroken when we told him that his price was too high and we weren't interested. Even after he somehow managed to knock about $3-4K off the price! We actually spoke to the same guy about a year ago when we were looking for a different house, and when we told him that we just wanted a quote for the bank (again, after an hour or so of story telling and chest puffing), he became quite rude and said he'd email it through to us. Then, as we left the store, I believe that I heard him screw up our plans, and we never did receive that quote from him either... Rant over Thanks.
