Hi all,
Does anyone have a blind manufacturer they recommend?
I am looking at 'intoblinds' and 'MEMblinds'.
Thanks.
=)

I had a quote from intoblinds first up so didnt think much about the price given... I was then recomended to another blinds manufacturer in Campbellfield who was almost half the price of Into Blinds, after going almost all the way to paying deposit we ended up being quite dispointed with the service, was stuffed around a fair bit... as per my post below we are now using MEM blinds and they were cheaper again. **Have updated to edit my original recomendation of blinds supplier as no longer feel comfortable in recomending to others when we have been given the run around*** Goodluck, blinds are such a huge cost and can make such a difference to the overall look of the home it was something I have had a lot of trouble in deciding Re: Blind manufacturers? 3Mar 14, 2013 3:20 pm Thank you very much for the information. Half the price? Wow what a difference. Intoblinds are on the radio and they did say they will beat any written quote by 5% i think. Will definitely look into the one at Campbell field. Thank you. Re: Blind manufacturers? 4Mar 14, 2013 9:52 pm Hey jpc since we are building the same house I'm not sure what facade you got we got the savannah so windows would be different but I'm interested to get an idea. Does he do shutters and double roller blinds ? Re: Blind manufacturers? 5Mar 15, 2013 8:25 am We have also gone through the blinds buying process. Three companies we dealt with: - Into Blinds - Wife wasn't too overly happy with them but ok. Good on price vs the others. - Blinds Warehouse - The wife reckoned the sales person was an absolute jerk. I think it was because the salesperson chose the colours we were to have rather than the other way around! - The Blind Factory - A salesperson by the name of George came around. Wife was very happy with his service, attention to detail and overall professionalism. He pointed out items like having the cord opposite to the slide window opening due to the wind if the door was opened therefore rustling the cord and that for the bathroom the blind needs to be a tad different due to exposure to moisture etc. Overall they weren't the cheapest but for peace of mind and what we exactly wanted we were happy to pay the difference to go with The Blind Factory. Thank you Adam. We might get a couple of quotes this weekend and see what the price will end up costing. Impossible to calculate but we have a 40 square house. Do you think we can cover the whole house with venetian and roller blinds for under $7k ? Does he do shutters and double roller blinds ? I know he definitely does double rollers, couldn’t tell you for sure if he does shutters but I think I saw some in his office so probably does. Re: Blind manufacturers? 10Apr 05, 2013 11:44 am Update on the The Blind Factory. We have been overly displeased by their service and run around. Firstly the sales person never sent in the order until we rang a week later to ask what will be the expectant date. Secondly they started to take their sweet time and so we rang again to ask where were they up to. We were told they don't have the fabric in stock and that we have another option but the price will be dearer or we can wait. We said that with a baby coming around we need the blinds in asap and we won't be paying extra. They agreed, only to ring up to say that they found the original fabric and will install it in a weeks time from today. All in all, well established company at higher price does not mean better or even satisfactory service. Not happy The Blind Factory! Re: Blind manufacturers? 11Apr 05, 2013 2:26 pm Sorry to hear about your run around. I end up going with MEM blind from werribee. Michael has been fantastic so far and we changed our selections a few time and he was still very patience. We will be getting them installed in a few weeks so can't comment on the quality. He is by far the cheapest and gave me a price that included any fabric of my choice. I'll let you guys know how everything goes once the blinds are in. Cheers Re: Blind manufacturers? 12Apr 05, 2013 6:14 pm We used Into Blinds for our plantation shutters and couldn't be happier. Prompt service, courteous staff, competitive price and excellent quality. There was a minor delay (a few days) with our shutters being held up in port, and they sent me text messages to keep me updated - I never had to chase them. We're very happy with them, unlike the previous company we used for our other window furnishings... Re: Blind manufacturers? 14Apr 06, 2013 8:07 pm namweng thanks for the recommendation. How long from when you ordered them, to when they are supposed to be ready? Our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64705 Re: Blind manufacturers? 15Apr 06, 2013 8:10 pm meowsy namweng thanks for the recommendation. How long from when you ordered them, to when they are supposed to be ready? It's usually 2 - 3 weeks at most, however ours will be 4 weeks because we don't have the keys yet. Let us know how you go. Cheers Re: Blind manufacturers? 16Apr 07, 2013 4:43 am excellent. We are a fair way off that point but I will definitely call them when we get nearer! I didnt end up going with him, we have been stuffed around a fair bit in terms of the quote and fabrics we could and couldnt choose and it all just got too hard. I ended up contacting MEM blinds also and was very happy with Michael too, we have just ordered our blinds with them also and the price was even better than we were going to pay. I thought I would just drop in to say thanks for sharing who you were using. Having said that we still haven't got our blinds installed due to the delays in handover. Let us know how you go post installation. Cheers |
