Browse Forums Window Furnishings 1 Mar 27, 2008 9:16 am The expense of custom made curtains is discussed so often.Recently I came accross the freedom furniture catalogue showing eyelet and concealed tab curtains. I felt these are worth a thought where insulating quality of a curtain will be an added advantage over blinds. since they are not as expensive as the custom made, if one considers a life span of approx 3-5 yrs and gradually replace them I feel its an option worth considering. I dont quite like the tabtop types but the concealed tab and eyelet ones seem appealing. Any views, opinions, experience and advise? I think what style you choose, may depend on the décor in your rooms, and the style of your home. But either look nice. ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Eyelet or concealed tab curtains anyone? 3Mar 28, 2008 7:39 pm Only if you instal Pelmets too.
The pelmet stops the air rising upwards and traps it behind the curtains and at the pelmet. The eylet or tabs - so long as they finish inside the pelmet area, will not make a large diff then. Otherwise, the air still rises behind the curtain and up past the windows. Steve Re: Eyelet or concealed tab curtains anyone? 4Mar 28, 2008 7:41 pm ![]() Only if you instal Pelmets too. I realise that the custom made curtains tend to dominate the room. I was hoping to have the rod ends to coordinate with the floor lamps . What about timber pelmets? my 60s house has them and we recently painted them to make them blend more and stand out less. ![]() Re: Eyelet or concealed tab curtains anyone? 9Mar 31, 2008 10:20 am Good idea, also maybe a washed look???? ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Eyelet or concealed tab curtains anyone? 11Mar 31, 2008 10:32 am Lime wash…….
