Browse Forums Window Furnishings 1 Jun 05, 2012 9:54 pm Hi all, I would like to install some wooden venetians from spotlightin my living area. The problem with my windows is that they have no arcitraves and are not exactly square. Some websites suggest installing them above the window frame however make extra allowance to minimise light getting in. Also it may give the effect of a larger window. What are your thoughts? If anyone has pics of this way of installing I would love to see them. Cheers Installing Venetians above/outside window frame 2Jun 06, 2012 2:51 pm We had this done in our old house, the window was rounded at the top so we had to install over the window rather than in it. I'm afraid that I don't actually have any photos of it, but the window was large to start with and it didn't look bad or anything having the venetians installed over the window. Some builders cover them up others just leave them handing. You can cover it up with an aluminium bracket or ask the builder. 7 8411 Thanks for sharing. Looks good. The joiner has come back with a quote of close to 5k. I think we are going to not do it. Maximum allowable spacing is 6M or 5.5M for a wall with window… 17 16733 |
