Browse Forums Window Furnishings 1 Mar 01, 2008 3:48 pm Hi all,
Now that we have the carpets organised, next on the list is curtains/blinds. As I have posted before, we are considering one, or a combination of: - Timber Venetians - Roller Blinds (Hollands) - Double Roller Blinds (one roller with sunblock, the other roller total blockout) and now after discovering them, Ventex blinds. We didn't know these existed, so I'm guessing there are others that don't either. They are basically a venetian but the blades are made of material more like that of a holland blind, with fiberglass rods in the edges to keep them straight. Does anyone have Ventex blinds? What are they like as far as 1) Blocking out heat? 2) Blocking out light? 3) Durability? Also, we went to the nearest Luxaflex showroom this morning and we loved their products but they certainly aren't cheap!! The lady told us that most people spend between $10,000 and $15,000 on window coverings and my husband and I nearly fell over. If we were to get single holland blinds (which is their cheapest product) through them our whole house will cost almost $8,000... is this justified with quality? It seems like such an excessive amount! Any comments greatly appreciated. Ray. Second Time 'Round Re: Ventex - anyone? 4Mar 03, 2008 12:52 pm Ventex Blinds

Interestingly these venetians are made by Mardo in WA and Mardo is owned by Kresta (which also owns Vista). They also have an online site you can buy them from; http://www.innercityhomeproducts.com.au/. Includes prices for various window finishings and custom fitting as well.
I also came across something about Ventex "Luna" venetians as well which appeared to be the same type of blind but with greater light block out. As is typically the case for stuff I'm interested in, it appears these are the most expensive venetians they have, even more than their wood ones... Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 24824 As title suggests, looking at using the interlocking Pentablock stacked stone products to replace failing timber retaining… 0 17866 I am building in claymore NSW and this is shown in the building envelope plan. … 0 10034 |
