Browse Forums Window Furnishings 1 Oct 17, 2007 2:06 pm Can someone suggest somewhere that sells a wide selection of nice curtain fabric on the roll (ie I can go & get the fabric immediately because they have the bolts/rolls of fabric right there rather than going through samples & waiting for delivery)?
Everywhere out my side of town either has only samples of the same old fabric or a horrible/bland selection of fabric on the roll. Thanks for any help. I'm finding the whole curtain thing very frustrating - any curtain fabric being sold on the bolt in the places out my way is just horrible. And the ready-mades are so boring. And anything sold via sample is hugely expensive (I don't save much by making it myself) & I have to wait for ages to get the fabric in. I'm amazed anyone has any nice curtains at all! Re: curtain fabric in Melbourne 4Oct 17, 2007 10:23 pm I've been thinking, also try :
Horizon Fabrics 243 Burwood Rd, Hawthorn, VIC 3122 ph: (03) 9873 8999 and the one i really want to get to ( i finally remembered what it's called) is: Next Fabrics Pty Ltd 1346 Toorak Rd, Burwood, VIC 3125 ph: (03) 9889 2213 and finally: http://www.fabricsupplies.com.au/ I don't think the top two have websites, but it might be worth the drive. Spend the day out and drive around and see what they have. You may have to buy the whole bolt/roll of fabric, but if you are doing the whole house anyway, it should be fine. And because you will be buying close to wholesale, it should be much cheaper than the retail chains. Let us know how you get on and what you end up selecting?
