Slowly it's getting there though, the money well just dried up lol. The lounge. I was going blue accents in here, but couldn't find the right blue and wanted some colour as it was so brown, so have gone red for now. We still need to get a t.v cabinet, but we are thinking of getting one custom made to fill the whole space. And a new rug for the floor and a big picture for the wall. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ My kitchen, still not sure of my splashback. It was suppose to be on starfire and I'm sure it's not as it was a real neutral stone colour that I picked and it blended with the benchtop. It's ended up really bluey/grey and I'm not sure if it goes all that well, but my hubby likes it and won't let me do anything about it. Still to go are the curtains in the living area, but they are picked out and just waiting to be ordered, front yard and airconditiong, then it's just the little things like furniture and bits and pieces Re: our house - tonnes of pics 106Apr 01, 2011 1:45 pm You got a beautiful house Rizzo. The floor is definitelly a stand out. Love your taste. =-) Re: our house - tonnes of pics 107Apr 01, 2011 2:03 pm Hi Rizzo, You've done really well without that money tree - it would be nice to have it though wouldn't it? Your house still looks beautiful and I look forward to seeing pics when you have your niche artwork (I think I will have a problem with that too) and your blue accents, sheers in the bedroom, dining suite, etc etc. From the photos the splashback looks good but I know that if you had your heart set on a certain colour you won't be happy! The floor makes the whole place feel lovely and warm too. Well done (so far) For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! Re: our house - tonnes of pics 108Apr 01, 2011 2:13 pm Thanks guys Mclaren, It's weird with the splashback, I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. It was hard even picking something with my hubby as he is boring and doesn't like anything "sparkly" whereas I think the shimmer paints really make a splashback seem wow. I think it's the side bits that bug me the most and if they weren't there, I think the colour would be fine. On the original plans, the overheads actually came out as far as the splashback does, but during construction, the ss contacted me and asked if I was sure I wanted them out that far as it would be pretty easy to bang your head on it (and it definately would've) so let us change them to be sunken in, but I didn't think about the splashback sticking all the way out. I guess if it was neutral, they wouldn't look so bad, or if they weren't there, the colour wouldn't look so bad! Can't win hey. Re: our house - tonnes of pics 109Apr 01, 2011 2:36 pm It's those last minute changes that throw the spanner in the works - just when you thought you had it all locked away! I suppose that's not bad though if that's the only thing that irks you - you'll have to find something else that sparkles instead! Hey Rizzo, its pretty normal for splashback to stick out past o/h cupboards. i see it in almost every display home. We really wanted glass splashback but ended going for dark glossy porcelian tiles (300x600) and had no return on ends. so its only on the one wall. looked neater i thought. I understand why it bugs you, but honestly you barely notice it. Theres a reason your kitcen is one of my favourites Re: our house - tonnes of pics 112Apr 01, 2011 6:15 pm *sigh* Such a gorgeous home rizzo! Re: our house - tonnes of pics 119Apr 10, 2011 8:15 pm Hi Rizzo, Your house looks great and looks huge!!! Can you "please" let me know what colour and brand you used for you internal walls, ceilings, trims etc. I've had a look at your previous posts and can't find this info. It's the exact colour Im looking for. Cheers ) ) Re: our house - tonnes of pics 120Apr 10, 2011 9:11 pm Thanks everyone, it's getting there and I must say, I do enjoy living here sanjam, our internal walls are dulux whisper white and the ceilings are just painters ceiling white. The trims are suppose to be the same, although alot of them are turning a creamy colour due to it being oil based gloss. Your house roof does not show rusting other than some surface rust on the flashings. In my opinion you dont need to replace or paint the roof other than treat surface rust… 1 10209 have you used any of the motorised curtain systems available from Ebay?
