Question about motorised roller blinds

I am getting whole house fitted with double roller blinds - block out plus sheers and would like to get them motorised.

Curious - for anyone who has done this - do you have both the sheers and block out motorised or is it sufficient just to have the block out motorised?

I imagine the sheers won’t be going up and down as often - so can save some money just having th block out motorised rather than both.

waste of time for us having both, living only need one or the other. Bedroom only needs blockouts in our experience. Somfy RTS seems to be the way to go, speak to installer about hiding the cable.

I have motorised roller blinds in my house. I motorised all the blinds I use a lot and the ones that don’t get used too often I didn’t. I went through Motorise My Blinds and found them very knowledgeable, here is their website:

Actually kind of agreed with the first comment. Felt like it is a bit too much adding both double roller blinds with sheers, but it is not uncommon to do this - it honestly depends. Normally people will just get a blackout roller blind but if you want more light control you may add a double with sunscreen.

Sometimes you may feel that there are some lights still pouring in (even with blackout blinds there may still be some lights leaking in) and you want more darkness or you think it may look better or some other reasons, then you can consider adding sheers. Obviously, it will also cost more if you chose to have all three, but it all comes to personal choice. I would only go for adding one roller blind and sheer, but that is just my personal preference.

Consol Blinds and Homes has a fairly cheap price with decent qualities in my option and it took me a while to found them. They also sell fairly cheap blinds and motorised tracks for both sheers and roller blinds as well
