There would still be bits that need to be sewn together (cushions excluded because obviously they will have to be sewn anyway), or at least tucked in really well ... The challenge would be if you wanted exact-fit removable slip covers which IMO are by far the best as you can wash them whenever you want to. In fact, they should be more expensive to make, if you want a nice proper snug fit. I made one once and it was an exact fit, but I didn't make all that nice piping around the arms, so it wasn't as shmick as it could have been.
