What is the best way to secure a cat tree?

I have a big cat and she, like many other cats, likes all that. I saw there are cat trees that are hanging on the wall. I'd love to have that, but how secure is that? My cat weighs 17.64lb/8kg, so I'm afraid it is not that safe. Is it?
