Browse Forums Buying Land Re: Blacklisting a land developer 3Aug 10, 2018 4:05 pm michaelturneraurum Speak to your lawyer who assessed the land contract I think a lawyer can only help me with breaking the contract. Spoke with builder regarding breaking contract, it is not a good option. I will be a loser if I do it. The land has appreciated 30-40k in 1 year and if I break contract developer will be happy to return my original deposit with no extra for land appreciation cost. So I will miss out on the gain + builder will deduct money from what he has collected from me as his charges for work he has done on drawing and admin fees I like the area and don't want to lose this piece of land. My issue is the developer (Hamilton Rise) they are more of marketers then project manager and I am not sure how to put pressure on them to start the work. It could be the developer own interest in delaying the project as then he can get more money from canceled contracts, now that land has appreciated. Hi, This is my first post.
