Browse Forums Buying Land 1 Apr 21, 2017 4:37 pm I am buying a block of land in Riverstone. A friend of mine told me that someone he know had some issues getting approval from council for constructing a house in the registered property. Appreciate any insight. Another issue I heard about Riverstone and Schofields is that the area are flood prone. I did find an amazing online tool, which helps you find the elevation of the location. Using this tool, I could see that the area, where my land is located has elevation varying from 31m (120 feet roughly) to 49m. Appreciate any information and insights. Re: Anyone had any issues with respect to home construction 2Apr 26, 2017 11:55 pm People can have issue with council for various reasons, like not following building/ setback guidelines, window privacy, BASIC energy issues etc etc. Elevation of a plot can be found on the engineering subdivision map or contour map. If a lot has more than 1m slope, it can add $$$ to the site cost. The less slope/ the better it is. If your lot have an elevation between 31 to 49 m, that means you have a huge sized land more than 1000sqm? A plot of 300-500sqm size usually has 0.2m to 2m elevation/fall. Anything more than that is trouble. May be I didn't get your second point, did i? I am looking at building a house. Has anyone used Construkt Homes (based in Adelaide)? Does anyone have experience with this builder? 0 6451 That is a really good attitude Akin to you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.
