The developers took it back 12 hours before we were due to sign the contract - because it was supposed to be used for the display village carpark. Obviously that didn't end up happening so those blocks are back up for sale at the original price. With regards to the price increase, I think it's just supply and demand. Capestone is cheaper than North Lakes which drives up demand, but then the developers increase prices and decrease land sizes to get more profit. Unfair, but seems to be standard practice. That's one of the benefits of getting in early I suppose. Our land value has increased $30,000 since we bought it in September. That probably explains why they were up for sale. I'm guessing 501 & 502 were earmarked for that and perhaps they have now changed their mind. I have no doubt that the land will be the correct value at the end of the process, just a little frustrating for the valuers to come back under. In the end it doesn't matter, but I'm betting had I split the loans up, I would of been having a bit more of a hard time. It will be neat but you won't have much freeboard.
