Browse Forums Buying Land 1 Feb 18, 2015 8:00 pm i am hoping someone on here has some experience with purchasing crown land, We have a road reserve at the back of our block that has to undergo the process of being released through crown land as it needs to be closed. I have been told this process can take a while but was hoping to hear other peoples experiences. We bought land in Tassie and found out afterwards there was a reserve road to access the land, had never heard of them before so we asked about buying it and was told you pay the going rate for land, and all the costs involved like survey etc, and that you can get a licence to use it instead, so we looked at that and got a licence cost about $250 dollars and lasts for 50 years, the person we bought the land off had a licence for it so we just transferred it over to us, so look and see if there is one there already,it's easier to swap it over.
