Don't fancy dragging the wheely bin back up the top of the driveway, rather leave it down the bottom, and just drag the rubbish bags down to it as I go past. Re: Where do you put your out door rubbish bins?? 4Jan 17, 2015 8:08 am Yes - the idea of an enclosure is good. Maybe have a mini-bin at the house to transport between house and major bin ? Don't like garage - can get hot - thus maggots etc. Don't just leave them though - they look awful just left out the front or just in the border line. Re: Where do you put your out door rubbish bins?? 5Jan 17, 2015 9:26 am On our old 20 acre place, we used to leave them up near the front gate, as it was too much of a nuisance to take them 400m down to the front every week. Local councillor advised us that it was okay to do so after I complained about why should we have to have the wheely bins after not having them for 18 years prior at the same place. Obviously bins out in the open will not work at our new place, so I intend to build a little home for them down on the fence line... possibly slatted fence palings so plenty of air will move past them, so they won't get excessively hot in the sun. Re: Where do you put your out door rubbish bins?? 6Feb 24, 2015 12:11 pm We leave ours in the garage. It's convenient to take out rubbish through the internal door and to throw out rubbish from the car. I've never had maggots or anything but I do throw bleach in there now and then. I always make sure my garbage is tied up in its own bag too. We used all our fence lines for garden which looking back may have been impractical. You do get used to doing whatever you normally do. At my farmlet many years ago it would take 30 mins to take out the bins. 0 19770 Do it. It dosnt cost much and just makes life easy. You won’t regret it. 2 11506 920 was enough to get the furniture in. We live in a pretty safe area and it’s great to see people walking to the front door. We’re not too fussed about people… 4 13838 |
