Its such a shame that this happens at all, but I completely agree with wizard on this one. We are in Chatham ave (only 2 streets behind inverall) and there are a lot of houses being built in our street, but i didn't see any damage to any of them, ours included. I would assume this is because there are people living in houses all the way along our back fences. The kids that did the vandalism on inverall wouldn't want to get too close to people seeing them and calling the cops. Once there are people living in the houses i doubt there will be any problems at all. I really don't think we have anything to worry about. Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 442Jan 22, 2011 7:36 pm Thats a great respite Andy. I hope a lot of families shift in Inverell parkway soon so that we feel safe. We might move in a month or two. I was keen to know which internet provider serves good service in reflection? Has anyone used iinet over there? Also, is there any recreational club in reflections like some of the other estates have? If not, does anyone know if there is any such proposal? Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 443Jan 28, 2011 9:09 am somehow, i have a renewed confidence that once we move into inverell parkway, it should be fine...a month or so away....have the same Q as akam about ISP... Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 444Jan 28, 2011 11:06 am I think with ISP's we're pretty much limited to Telstra or Iprimus as there are no Optus ports free on the Tarneit exchange. We haven't done it yet as we have a wireless dongle but I know a few have gone the Dodo route as they are a bit cheaper than Telstra themselves! We've had no problems with damage and are lucky enough that our little street is pretty quiet and we've gotten to know a few folks so feel relatively safe. We're enjoying it heaps and are quite happy with our decision so far! As for recreational facilities, I think we're out of luck! Hopefully we'll get a couple of shops along Inverell when those properties sell! Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 445Feb 04, 2011 2:23 pm Hi all, Am starting to look for fencing contractors and the contractors i could find is: U need a fence and HSM fencing...any other company you can suggest and their workmanship? Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 446Feb 04, 2011 2:40 pm U Need A Fence are a pain to deal with, we were going to use them until I had enough of them, they were cheap though. We used A-Comfence for one side, they did an ok job, fence is a little wonky, they were a little more expensive but were really good to deal with. We are currently using HSM for the other side, they seem ok, fence is in progress so not sure about workmanship, quote was very reasonable too Current status: Busy making the house our home Built PD Francis 29 on our 576m2 block at Reflections in Tarneit Reflections Estate Thread Our Build Thread Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 447Feb 05, 2011 10:25 am Our neighbour organised Jim's fencing (Jeremy Sofele) to do our and he has done a fantastic job and at a good price, we are looking to use him again when we do the other side. Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 448Mar 16, 2011 12:21 pm Hi all, Have moved in last week in Inverell Parkway. The trenching for the telephone line was completed last week and placed order with Telstra for home phone connection. Telstra got back to me to deliver the shocking news that there is no telstra cable / infrastructure in our road. Inverell parkway is a big strech and the other side I presume people have been living there for a while. Telstra mentioned that the infrastructure will be in place only in september, until then no home phone / internet. What a shame. !! Called up National pacific properties and they advised that the estate is responsible only for pit and conduits and not for cable....Anyone else in estate faced this situation ? I believe no other providers can give me phone line....not happy @ all with Telstra. Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 449Mar 16, 2011 12:33 pm First of all, congrats on moving in liebenswert. I am sorry to hear about your phone line. Telstra are the ones who own, install and maintain all the phone and internet cables, the other companies merely rent these cables off Telstra for their own use. Hence why no other company would be able to help you if the infrastructure is not in place already. It just sounds strange that only your street does not have the infrastructure. Have you spoken to anyone already moved in in your street to see if they have phone lines? You didn’t just get someone who didn’t know what they were talking about at Telstra did you? When I first rang Telstra to start to organize the transfer of our phone and internet from the rental to our house, they told me I could not do so as the Tarneit exchange was full and that to get it connected I would have to wait until a space opened up. 3 months later when we actually moved, the connection was done without any problems, I assume that the first person I spoke to was just a moron and had no idea what they were talking about and was too lazy to actually find out the right information. The moral to this story, maybe try them again, surely there is a line underground in your street. The other thing, go for a walk down your street and see where the closest Telstra pit is, we have one right out the front of our house in the nature strip. If there is a pit close by, you should be able to get a line. Let me know how this pans out. P.S. Hope you are loving your new home Current status: Busy making the house our home Built PD Francis 29 on our 576m2 block at Reflections in Tarneit Reflections Estate Thread Our Build Thread Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 450Mar 29, 2011 7:54 am Congrats liebenswert on moving in!! How are you going with Telstra? Can't believe your street would not have anything in place. It took many phone calls with Telstra to get anything done with our place and then when they did finally get there act together, the contractors digging the line in must have hit the gas meter as we had a nasty gas leak from there from the day they did there work. Only realised when we got the bill a couple of weeks later and went to investigate the meter reading and was overcome with gas fumes. Gas company had it fixed within hours. Gave me bad nausea and the worst headache. So if you do get it sorted, my advise is to check your gas meters etc for damage after they have done there work. Wizard, how did your 3 month check go with your outstanding issues? Hope all is good! Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 451Mar 29, 2011 9:52 am Thanks for your wishes....no luck with Telstra. They will lay the cable only by september, until then no chance of phone line / ADSL. Aprt from that it's taking a lot of time & effort to settle in with things ****** around in boxes....will keep posted if I have any updates.... Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 452Mar 31, 2011 10:04 am andy&meredith Wizard, how did your 3 month check go with your outstanding issues? Hope all is good! The inspection itself was fine, the guy that came to the house listed everything that we wanted fixed and agreed that it would be done. We had a few guys out yesterday to start going through the list, got a fair bit done, but probably only about half the list. So now all the small stuff is done and we are left with the bigger stuff. The only problem is we have no idea when someone will be out to do this stuff. When I get a chance over the weekend I am going to scan the inspection document and mark the items still outstanding and email this to PD and ask what is going on. andy&meredith the contractors digging the line in must have hit the gas meter as we had a nasty gas leak from there from the day they did there work. We are now finally looking at building our dream home and also our wedding. Anyone remember when we recieved our titles for stage 7? I look forward to meeting you all hopfully soon. How has it been living in the estate? Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 454Apr 01, 2011 7:03 am Welcome to the thread and Reflections Estate piotrek, congrats on the pending wedding. We love where we are living, looking forward to seeing the estate to once all the construction has been finished. So have you decided who you are building with? How long did you travel for? We travelled for around a year, we thought we'd travel a bit to get that out of our system and then get ready to settle down. We are currently in talks with my mates building company as we are designing our own home. We couldn't really find any house that had everything we needed/wanted. Therefore the process of getting everything set up is taking a lot longer then a standard home. We expect the house to start this year some time once we get the plans finalised and be moving in some time next year. Since being back I have driven past the block a few times, the estate is looking really nice besides a few houses which need a good clean up at the front. I should be at the estate next week hopfully as I need to trim the grass as it has grown abit. The sooner I start construction the less hassle the grass cuttign will be Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 456May 12, 2011 1:03 pm Hi all, After playing the waiting game Telstra has provided home phone connection this week. It was originally scheduled to be in september. The tech connected around 10 houses in my street. The next day, I applied for ADSL 2+ and to my surprise I got it connected in less than 2 days...YaY !!! finally internet with TPG, thou' they leverage the telstra network. Atleast we are feeling more connected now with internet and phone. ! Another issue we are currently facing is the rodents...mice around the kitchen...actively filling all the plaster hole for the pipes...it's a nuisance...sigh ! is any1 facing similar issue? Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 457May 12, 2011 1:07 pm Hi liebenswert, glad to hear you are now connected, and ahead of schedule. As for your rodent problem, no such problems at our house, even with the cat and dog food that is always in the backyard. Hope it doesn’t cause any dramas. How did you go with your curtains? Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 459May 12, 2011 2:56 pm Hi Guys! Just moved into the estate about one month ago - on Inverell Parkway. Went thru the vandalism, which did put a downer to the new year, read some of the posts on here but not all... We also have cruddy reception even with 3GS, but is probably better as it saves us money Love our estate as the blocks are alot bigger then the newest estates releasing at the moment & our road is so wide which is great! Just had our curtains done by Home Outlet in Hoppers, service was average but the products are great and good price, have paid our deposit with uneedafence - just waiting for the neighbours to pay the deposit, which is proving to take awhile as none of them are in their houses!! thats all for now Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 460May 13, 2011 2:01 pm Hello, Welcome to all the newbies! Sorry this is a quick drop in to say hello and yes mice are a big problem at the mo. Spoken to a few in the local area and they too having problems, due to the wet summer and autumn there is a plague of them in much of Melbourne i've been told. Think we might get a cat too! A question. Im in Queensland and building a new home. We managed to reach practical completion 6 weeks ago but we haven't heard any date for handover yet. Who should we… 0 5799 This is one of the reasons I decided to go overseas for my double glazed windows.
