Lets meet at the corner of Monaro and copeton and go for a walk around and look at each others places, sound good? Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 342Jul 03, 2010 1:03 pm Sounds good to us, we'll be there. Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 343Jul 03, 2010 2:45 pm I don't think we can make it, we are taking the kid to Disney on ice and I don't know what time we will get back, we will try to get there though Current status: Busy making the house our home Built PD Francis 29 on our 576m2 block at Reflections in Tarneit Reflections Estate Thread Our Build Thread Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 346Jul 07, 2010 7:52 am Last weekend was such a hectic weekend for us, we didn’t even get a chance to do our weekly coffee in the house, we’ll be down at our house sometime on Sunday (might have to have 2 coffees to make up for last weekend), if anyone wants to come down and say hi, we normally get there about 11am or so, if you’ll be around let me know and hopefully we can catch up Current status: Busy making the house our home Built PD Francis 29 on our 576m2 block at Reflections in Tarneit Reflections Estate Thread Our Build Thread Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 347Jul 07, 2010 3:16 pm Hello guys, Sorry to have missed you all on Sunday- it was not too long since I had returned from my snow trip and I was a bit worse for wear. I’m feeling a bit better now and not limping around anymore! Wizard- I’m about half way through my 5 year degree but I haven’t been following the course structure so I have a couple earlier commerce units to complete. Sarah- thanks for your advice regarding the frame straightening (I will check with my SS prior to plaster). Sorry also for not replying to your PM- the notification email was sent to an account I don’t use regularly. Andy&Meredith- I still cannot get used to the quality of the TV. I get blown away every time I turn it on! Now my friends and family want to get their own but unfortunately the promotion period has ended. I guess they will just have to wait till a replacement model with a newer promotion is released next year. Someone has dropped the remote though and won’t admit to it... There is a tiny mark on it but I will never feel the same about it again (I want a new remote!) Johnnycjay- I went for a walk around the block today and it looked like the concreters had scratched your garage door when they were laying the reinforced steel for your driveway (thought you might like to know to get your builder onto it). My gutters and fascia have been installed since my last post. They were left on site 2 days prior and because there was limited space on my actual property, to my dismay they were left on the footpath (which I took photos of). I had a close look at them when they were installed and sure enough, there were scratches on most panels and I also found two dints grrrr... these people never learn! I wonder if they will try to touch them up or just replace them all??? In any event they won’t be paid until they look flawless. The slab issues I had also haven’t been addressed yet but seeing as they haven’t asked for the slab payment again I’m happy to let it go for the time being. The plumbing was roughed in yesterday and the external taps are not in the precise position I wanted them as per the plans (close but not good enough). I also wanted to check with you guys how the recycled water from the tank is plumbed in your respective houses because I realised that the cold water tap to the washing machine in my laundry is connected to the tank, whereas I thought it was only to be the toilets that had to be plumbed to the tank?? I don’t think I like the idea of having my clothes washed in rain water but if it’s common practice then I will live with it! I guess that pretty much covers were I’m at... Cheers Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 348Jul 08, 2010 1:27 pm Hey Mark & Liz, how did your settlement go on Monday? It was us tooting while you were at your block Sunday taking photos too. Wizard, we hope to make it Sunday but have a friends exhibition to attend Sunday as well. Update on our place, have no bloody idea, our liaison has not returned any calls or emails all week and on closer inspection our SS's number is always withheld when he's call so am feeling very very frustrated. Hope everyone's having a great week and lots of progress on the building front! Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 349Jul 08, 2010 4:36 pm Hello everyone, This is my first post in this thread and I have been following this thread closely bcoz I have bought a lot in stage 11 in reflections. Great to see a lot of activity in the group and congratulations for people already building / about to start. Our titles were originally expected to be end of june, but now it has been advised that it may be end of july. The land is leveled, but the water taps yet to be installed. any idea / clue about how long it would take to install them. The pegs are already in place. Would love to meet all reflector's at some stage. Regards Sundar. Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 350Jul 08, 2010 4:40 pm Hi Sundar, great to meet you. Who are you building with and what house design? I think the taps are installed once you have settled, that’s what happened with us anyway Current status: Busy making the house our home Built PD Francis 29 on our 576m2 block at Reflections in Tarneit Reflections Estate Thread Our Build Thread Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 351Jul 08, 2010 5:29 pm Hi, Am building with Porter Davis - Manchester 1. I was under the impression that only when the taps are installed in the front yard the land is closer to be titled. correct me if am wrong? Lot size: 419 sq.m. Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 352Jul 08, 2010 6:14 pm Hi Sundar I think your tap will go in just after settlement. Hope you have more luck with PD than Mark and Liz, keep bugging them for progress updates. Our place gets it's 'independent' inspection tomorrow and then it's our turn next week. Getting excited about the house.....Less so about driving to Glen Waverley everyday! Hello to everyone else...@Meredith- Ring Elaines boss and get your SS number, we have ours, you should have yours! Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 353Jul 08, 2010 6:28 pm Thanks for the information johnny. All the very best for next week. One of my friend is currently having a bitter experience with PD. No work done for the last 5 weeks due to non-availability of bricks.... Also hope you all check the nearmap, and I could see the update as on june 21st. Will keep posted on the progress... Sundar. Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 354Jul 09, 2010 11:11 am Hi Guys, settlement happened without any dramas. It was such a relief after hearing some of the problems others have had. It's finally ours!! Welcome to the group Sundar. Not sure how long you could expect to wait for stage 11. We only just settled for stage 10 on Monday, and it was originally supposed to be ready in March. Our water tap appeared pretty much the same day that we were told that our land was titled, and then we had 2 weeks until settlement. I contacted NPP during the week as well to find out what trees they'll be putting in the nature strip - it's going to be yellow gum. I think this is the same as the other stages??. If anyone in stage 11 or 12 wants to find out what theirs is going to be PM me and i'll give you the person's email address. Johhnycjay, you guys must be getting really anxious counting down the days... not long to go now!! Andy&Meredith, good luck with your SS - hopefully you can get their number and get an update on whats happening - fingers crossed for you that everything's going great. We'll probably be driving around at some stage on the weekend but not sure when. We'll keep an eye out for any familiar faces Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 355Jul 09, 2010 11:37 am Congrats Mark&Liz on a successful settlement, how long until you start building? PD have told us that our site start is the end of July, so not too long. There's still a few things that need sorting out, but hopefully everything gets done and we can start then. Our original start date was going to be August, so its a bit exciting to think its all going to be happening sooner. Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 357Jul 12, 2010 7:58 am Hope everyone had a great weekend, just a quick update, we are pretty much at lockup, all external doors are in, bricking is almost finished and all the rough-ins are done. This week we should be seeing the completion of bricking, insulation being installed and plastering should begin by end of week or early next week. Congrats johnnycjay on getting your certificate of occupancy, very exciting and so close to moving in and unpacking! I'm not sure personally what's worst, packing or unpacking? Wizard, your bricks are looking great, did a drive by yesterday, so can't wait til all the constructions finished and there are no more trucks etc blocking all the streets! Well about an hour after our last post we both got phone calls from our builder/SS and all is going well and we're having a site inspection with our SS this Friday. There was talk of being finished by end of month, so have fingers and toes crossed and hope this is confirmed on Friday. Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 360Jul 19, 2010 3:02 pm Well, bricking is still not finished, they ran out of bricks. Should be done I the next day or so, wall insulation is in and plastering is just about done, should be receiving our lock up invoice very soon. How is everyone else traveling?
