We're pretty desperate to settle as plans were sent to council weeks back and have selections in a few weeks and hoped the land would definitely be ours by then. The RealtySA guy said it was because of the council dragging their feet not them. A 5 month delay is pretty ridiculous..feels like we've had to put our lives on hold because they can't sort their crap out. Shouldn't have released the blocks til everything was at least half sorted out. Ok...I've had my rant for the night Re: Building in Southbank, Sheidow Park 103Sep 06, 2011 1:39 pm Hi all, First post on this forum. My partner and I have also purchased a block in Stage 2 of Southbank, Sheidow Park. We are finding it increasingly disappointing that settlement keeps getting pushed back with no or little communication from LandSA. It also appears that not all the trees have been removed - Locomotive Drive still appears to have the Blue Gums, or at least what look like Blue Gums! Does anyone know if they plan on taking out all the trees? Or have not gotten around to all of them yet? Thanks neighbours! Re: Building in Southbank, Sheidow Park 104Sep 11, 2011 9:52 am They are still waiting for section 51 clearance, like the last letter said ages ago. I was told they expected it at the end of the week, which would have been the 2/9 but still no word, which isnt surprising. Our plans went to council in may but i dont think council will touch them until the land has been subdivided and titles issued. We wanted to do our colour selection ages ago but fairmont say not to do it until your within 4 weeks of the land settling, which doesnt help when u have no idea when that will be. Re: Building in Southbank, Sheidow Park 105Sep 11, 2011 9:51 pm Hi k8, We wanted to wait to do the selections until it settled and the house plans approved in case something went wrong, but when I called our Fairmont consultant he said to just do it as soon as possible. Re: Building in Southbank, Sheidow Park 106Sep 12, 2011 3:45 pm Hi All, Went for a walk this morning and noticed they have put up a fence down along Locomotive Drive at the back of Lot 50 to 56. I guess they are sectioning Stage 2 & 3 off. We have been to Direct Interiors & Supreme Kitchens to do our final selections, fun, fun. Once the land becomes settled we can finish off with the final builders interview. Our biggest problem to date is that we still have not sold our house in Sheidow, to then venture this next project, so we are hoping to find another buyer as they last one pulled out in the cooling off period. We have a D Day on the building contract of the 30 November 2011, so if not sold buy then not sure what is going to happen. Re: Building in Southbank, Sheidow Park 107Sep 13, 2011 6:28 pm Thanks Miss M, If thats the case I will just book it in to get it out the way. Good luck BoostBoy with selling your house, hopefully you sell it soon. How long did i take you to do your selections? Re: Building in Southbank, Sheidow Park 109Sep 15, 2011 7:52 pm We are yet to do our selections, but know what we want. Fairmont said to hold off until settlement is closer. I called our conveyancer as received a letter saying 2 weeks, when the one from Realty SA says 8 weeks.. unbelievable difference. Conveyancer said they will sort it out and call me back, still waiting on that call back but will hopefully provide some clarification. Fingers crossed on the 2 weeks but TRYING not to get hopes up with the previous delay history.... Re: Building in Southbank, Sheidow Park 111Sep 20, 2011 6:46 pm Miss M they told me 3 - 4 weeks, they underestimated, Realtysa overestimated. Still waiting on realtysa to confirm as our normal contact is now on leave. Fingers crossed not long to go! Re: Building in Southbank, Sheidow Park 112Sep 21, 2011 10:27 am Hope everyone's plans are coming along. Our conveyancer has said early November for settlement. Our plans are going into Council today, yippee!! So happy to have made it this far. They have also managed to slash the water pipe on lot32 & lot46. Re: Building in Southbank, Sheidow Park 117Oct 20, 2011 12:07 am Not impressed! We thought the house would have been almost built by now. If we knew it was going to take so long we definately wouldn't have moved back to my parents house Anyone else get a letter from the council saying they needed written confirmation stating that we know about the LMA....then when that was sent, got a reply saying we couldn't know the LMA yet as Land Titles haven't been issued....so don't send me a letter then! Re: Building in Southbank, Sheidow Park 118Oct 20, 2011 8:41 am Hi miss_m, We were also under the impression that things woud be well and truely on their way by now, and we also moved in with my partners parents! Now it looks like they won't even have things sorted by the end of the year! It is an absolute joke! We also got the letter about the LMA and responded almost immediately, we are yet to receive a response. It's extremely frustrating, it feels like all we have done is jump through hoops for them and they don't even have the decency to communicate with us properly! Re: Building in Southbank, Sheidow Park 119Oct 20, 2011 9:35 am I think we are all in the same boat - we moved in with my parents! Wouldnt have sold our house so soon if we knew it would take this long. Apparently the Council wont look at our plans until the land is settled. Round and round in circles - and as u said zero communication from anyone (except builderd who seem to be ready and waiting).. Fingers crossed we all get some movement and then it will start being a quicker process.. I hope =( Noone is even communicating to us that they have had no luck, its all up to us to chase - very unimpressed!!!! We still live with our parents as our first home, but thought we would be in the first half of next year, goodbye to that plan =( Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed. Looks like… 0 11864 |
