I'm tossing up between Allura in Truganina and Reflections. I guess I'm tossing up between living in front of a lake in the wetlands with a balcony (Reflections, also more expensive and $700pa body corporate), or across from the Allura park without a balcony (cheaper and more inclusions). Read through this thread and it's been a couple of years so just want to see if anyone from Reflections is still on here and if I can have your opinion on living there? Are there many rentals yet? Feral kids? Hoons? Lots of mosquitos from the wetlands? Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 466Apr 22, 2013 9:43 am Hi ponglong, I started this thread ages ago, I have not been on this site for a long time, just too busy with work, kids and my studies. We are happy here, we lived in Truganina, not far from Allura (just off Westmeadows Ln) and absolutely hated it, full of ferals, Allura I think will be different though. There are quite a few rentals, unfortunately that’s what happens with cheaper western suburb areas, I don’t think Allura would be any different. In regards to feral kids, apart from my own 2 feral daughters, there aren’t any. There are lots of kids in the area, but they just never come out. It annoys me, for some reason they just don’t seem to be let out to play. When we were living in Truganina, there were no kids for my daughters to play with, my eldest used to whinge about it all the time, when we built we knew there would be heaps of kids in the area and therefor she would have plenty of kids to play with. We envisioned going out the front of our house and the street full of kids playing on their bikes and kicking a ball around, like when we were young, but no, that doesn’t happen. My eldest said to me recently, I thought you said there would be heaps of kids to play with here? My response was, there are heaps of kids, they just don’t come out to play for some reason. I don’t know if it is a sign of the times or if the parents around here are too strict or what it is, but it is really disappointing. We do get hoons sometimes, but not in our street thankfully, you just hear them in the distance, this happens anywhere. And as for mosquitos, we have not noticed any more than anywhere else, I am the first to get eaten alive but the things, but have not had many here. Hope I helped, hopefully some of the others who used to use this thread might come on and give their opinions, like I said, it has been so long since I used this site, I couldn’t even tell you if they are still on here. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. The area does seem really nice but I take the train everyday to work.. This is going to suck until 2016 (?) when the Tarneit station is built. I notice it's about a 20 minute bus ride on the 444 to Hoppers Station (where I take the train from currently). At least you can exit the estate and turn left to Derrimut or Sayers depending on where you're going. I have a 4 month old daughter and I really think she'll love having the wetlands at our doorstep in the future, and with a private road/driveway for the townhouses it'll be safer... BUT it'll cost me $700 a year to have it. A few more questions: -ADSL2+ yet with many ports available? Allura will be getting NBN =[ -How much are council rates approx? Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 468Apr 22, 2013 9:56 am Not sure on the internet side of things, we have ADSL, its good enough for what we do, hopefully someone else can provide those answers. Rates are $387 a quarter for us. Yes it can dry up, but with all the rain fall coming off all the roof tops and into the lake in the estate, it doesn't take long to refill. As I said, I have not noticed the mozzies Current status: Busy making the house our home Built PD Francis 29 on our 576m2 block at Reflections in Tarneit Reflections Estate Thread Our Build Thread Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 471Apr 23, 2013 9:23 pm Yeah just realised you already answered the mozzie question lol. I'm really feeling the estate and have driven through a few times the past few days. Just drove through ecoville and boy that was an anticlimax. Ok so there's inbuilt flood protection. That's good to know. Re: Reflections Estate Tarneit – Calling all Reflectors 472Apr 24, 2013 1:29 pm ponglong Yeah just realised you already answered the mozzie question lol. All good, I don't mind repeating myself lol. ponglong Just drove through ecoville and boy that was an anticlimax. I agree, I drive through it on my way home from work and it does not look like much, it definitely is nothing special or different. ponglong Ok so there's inbuilt flood protection. That's good to know. This needs confirming, I am pretty sure the sales office at Reflections told me this, but that was 3 years ago, I may be wrong. It has not flooded yet at least. We are looking to buy a property on Inverell parkway but not sure if it’s safe to live near wetlands. Does it attract lots of snakes and mosquitoes. As you guys are living around there, did you ever have any encounter with snakes. Feedback would much appreciated as we have 2 young kids.
